Tool Grade

D2 Steel
Cold work
High-carbon, high-chromium tool steel with very high wear resistance, air hardening. For blanking dies, punches and high-volume cold forming tooling. Its chromium carbides provide the wear resistance, while air hardening promotes low distortion and high dimensional stability, reaching 58–62 HRC in long-life tooling.
Main features
Very high wear resistance
Low distortion on hardening
High dimensional stability
