Bakelite
Bakelite is a thermoset laminate of cellulose paper impregnated with phenolic resin, hot-pressed, with excellent electrical insulation properties. It offers high dielectric strength, excellent mechanical strength and high moisture resistance, and is hard to ignite and resistant to alcohol, hydrocarbons and petroleum. It is ideal for electrical insulation, oil-bath transformers, motors, hot sticks and reel supports. Also known as Micarta or Pertinax.

Note: Phenolic paper laminate (also called Micarta or Pertimax), dark brown. Values are for reference and may vary by grade. Thermoset laminates are identified by their reinforcement (paper, fabric or glass fiber) and their resin (phenolic or epoxy), not by chemical percentages as with steels.
